Rebekah Circle

Contact person: Nancy Cody

Rebekah Circle consists of a group of women who meet once a week, on Wednesday mornings from 9:30-11:00 in the church library. The first 30 minutes are reserved for visiting, catching up on what is going on in one another's lives and in the lives of those we care about, and giving those who are occasionally late time to come in before the actual study begins at 10:00. We usually study three books a year, books which encourage us to grow spiritually and intellectually as Christians. We like to challenge ourselves to be honest, open to self-examination and new ideas. At times we share laughter and tears, but we ALWAYS share a closeness to one another through Jesus Christ.

Bible Study is out for the summer and will resume in the fall, please keep checking in for details on the start up date.

TALMIDIN

Contact Person: Mary Beth Myers

In 1993 at a retreat of the Mary Martha Circle of the United Methodist Women, the need for a woman's bible study group was discussed. Twelve woman decided to meet every other week, but very quickly knew they wanted to meet every week. Meeting in homes for a couple of years, they finally settled on the Church Library on Tuesday mornings. Mostly referred to as the Tuesday Morning Bible Study Group, one of our pastors wanted them to have a "name" and they chose Talmidim, Hebrew for Disciples.

The Bible is the textbook and using video and occasionally books by Christian authors constitutes the study. A group of women who have come to have a more personal relationship with God and in fellowship support our church and each other.

For those who are interested in a God centered Bible study, join them on Tuesday morning at 9:30 am for fellowship and at 10:00 am the study begins. Mary Beth Myers is the leader and they welcome all who want to join in worshiping the Almighty who is, who was, and who is to come.

Currently, the group is enjoying a DVD series by Ray Vanderlaan. Discover Jesus. Journey back to the time of Jesus. Marvel at the magnificence of Herod's palace. Scramble among the ruins of Qumran. And wonder at the simplicity and wisdom of Jesus' parables. Discover how the events of Jesus' day impacted his life, ministry, and communication. Then let them impact yours.
